RTI Act in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K)

Right to Information (RTI) Act 2005 is an Act of the Parliament of India "to provide for setting out the practical regime of right to information for citizens." Right to Information (RTI) Act applies to all States and Union Territories of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir has its own act called Jammu & Kashmir Right to Information Act, 2009.
So short we can say RTI Act 2005 is NOT applicable in J&K while Jammu and Kashmit has its own Jammu & Kashmir Right to Information Act, 2009

Corporate-politician nexus behind coalgate: EAS Sarma

Former top bureaucrat EAS Sarma blamed politician-corporate nexus for the corrupt practices and suggested the idea of ‘competitive bidding’ to bring transparency in all sectors. Criticising PM Manmohan Singh for empty reform promises he said, “The PM just talks about reforms. There is no reform visible in reality”. He added that there is no change in the allocation of spectrum yet and in any sector for that matter, be it commonwealth, 2G or coalgate. “Commonwealth, 2G spectrum scam, etc, all point to the fact that bureaucrats and politicians were in cahoots with the corporate sector to accrue illegal benefits”.
